Sleepy Hollow: Sandman's Invading Dreams

From http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0tj9LdM-Dk

Episode three served as a filler episode, in which a new creature was introduced, the Sandman, who appeared as a ghostly white figure with no eyes or mouth. The Sandman appears in Abbie’s dream of her and her sister, Jenny, being questioned about what happened during the three days they disappeared. This moment became a breaking point of their sisterhood bond because Abbie lies about not seeing a monster.

Even after Abbie defeated the Sandman and admitted her guilt Jenny is unable to forgive her. More is revealed about Abbie’s and Jenny’s parents who were out of the picture causing them to be put in a foster home. When Ichabod asked about her parents though she would not reveal much about her past.

Ichabod learns the hardships Native Americans faced, and gets disgusted by energy drinks. Upset by the idea that the U.S. government did not help protect the Native Americans proves how his morals were way above his time. I thought it was interesting how producers combined the Sandman with Native American myths and then took it a step further to fit the Sandman in with the huntsman’s army.

Overall I gave this episode a B- for not including more about Abbie’s past, however I did like how more questions about Abbie’s and Jenny’s relationship were unveiled. I thought it was interesting that at the end of the episode it suggested that Jenny would become a protector of Sleepy Hollow. Do you think Jenny would make a good addition to the team?
